Hi, I’m Liz.
My Substack newsletter, Isaiah49.15, began as a way to share my story, how I found freedom from rejection to embrace God's love.

A little bit about me . . .
I grew up in Southern Ontario, Canada, on a traffic-less street, but certainly not a quiet one with all of us neighborhood kids collectively playing until our mothers called us in for bedtime—it was the 70s! I raised my daughter in a small town as a single mom. One of our most memorable times was our Gilmore Girls road trip, which became a hit on my travel blog, traveltizzy. After my daughter graduated high school, I left my career as an elementary school teacher to join Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
My YWAM experience has been an incredible adventure. First, I completed my Discipleship Training School in Nelson, New Zealand. Then, I attended the Writing School at the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii. While learning at the school, God revealed the need for healing from old childhood rejection wounds and prompted me to write a book about that healing process. Nearing the end of my time in Hawaii, God brought my husband and I together—(how awesome is God!)
A little bit about my book . . .

Do you know God loves you, yet long to experience it? God’s love for me was an abstract concept, not a tangible reality. It was similar to watching Niagara Falls behind thick glass. I could see the mighty waterfall, but couldn’t feel the misty water spraying my face, hear the deafening roar of the falls or smell the fresh air. I knew the love of God existed, but couldn’t feel the power of it with all my senses.
After decades of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual anguish, God brought me to a place where I could sit at His feet and heal. Finding Freedom from Rejection: Breaking Through the Glass to Embrace YHWH's Love is a non-fiction, inspirational, personal growth book about how to find freedom from the effects of early childhood rejection, how to discover God’s love and how to walk united with His love on a daily basis. What you can expect from my Substack newsletter . . .
Part memoir and part devotional, my book shares my personal journey through rejection, depression, and healing. Each chapter also includes prayers, applications, and journal prompts to help you reflect on your own story and invite God into the places that still need healing.
Here on Substack, I’ll be sharing the book one chapter at a time, every two weeks, giving you space to reflect, pray, and process along the way. Don't worry if you are new here. You can access my archive at any time.
In addition to the book, I share monthly devotional reflections focused on spiritual growth, healing, and learning to live more deeply in God’s love.
From time to time, I also write about the journey of getting published. I’m currently walking through that process myself—learning, stumbling, and growing along the way. Because I believe we are stronger when we share what we learn with each other, I’ll pass along insights, encouragement, and practical lessons from the trenches.
Thank you
